The XFP Module offers customers a variety of 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Packet-over-SONET/SDH (POS) connectivity options for data center, enterprise wiring closet, and service provider transport applications. XFP are designed for SM or MM fiber and operates at a nominal wavelength of 850/1310/1550 nm, XFP SR, LR (LRM), ER and ZR.

The 10GBase-LR SFP+ module supports a distance of up to 10km over single-mode fibre (SMF) using a wavelength of 1310nm via an LC connector.
